Dust Djinns
Creatures made from pure magical energy, living in the Scorched Plains.
Appearance
The dust djinns are almost invisible when you're not close to them, from a distance they look like just another pile of sand disturbed by the sand. Only from up close, an ethereal body becomes visible in the sand. The body itself does not seem to have a defined shape, shifting and morphing with the wind and the movements of the djinn. When you're very close, you can evem make out something that looks like eyes, but it might also just be a sparkle from the sand.
Behaviour
Djinns spend their days wandering the desert, collecting magical energy from Moon Stone dust mixed in the sand. They require the little energy stored inside these dust particles to survive, the magical energy keeping them going. And since the concentration of these stones is very low, it is important for them to keep moving at all times.
On the rare occasion they meet any other creature in the desert, especially when they are Higher Beings, they enjoy messing with them. Some are more innocent and like playing simple pranks, but most of them are known for leading travelers into their death. They might, for example, pretend to lead someone to an oasis only to vanish into thin air, leaving them to realize there is no oasis and die of thirst in the middle of the dessert. To them, this is no more than a way to spend the time, but to their victims, it might be the last thing they see in their lives.
If large amounts of magical energy collect in a place in the desert, the djinn are drawn to it, trying to feed on the energy. Once enough of them gather in once place, they merge together in a large sand storm, raging through the desert only stopping once it has exerted all its energy.
