Karrun Steamforge

A Cogblood scientist and engineer, specializing in armor and worn weaponry.

Early life

Karrun was born in Stormhollow, her mother being born and still living there, but his father coming from Skyhaven. Her parents met during a festival when the two cities met in the sky and ended up with her mother being pregnant, never even having the chance to tell her father, as skyhaven already left again by the time she found out.

As her mother had to raise her by herself while working as an engineer on Stormhollow's engines, Karrun lived in poverty for her entire childhood and often tried to help out her mother at her work when she got the chance. She was soon amazed by the technology keeping an entire city floating and in particular all the fortifications allowing Stormhollow to survive strong storms and even attacks from Dragons or Drakehawks.

So from a young age, Karrun was determined to learn everything there is to know about Cogblood technology, studying first under her mother then among her various collegues, allowing her to learn more and more until finally getting a spot in the prestigious Ironspire College where she went on to be top of her class each year until graduating.

Graduation and the Layline Initiative

As her final project in the Ironspire College, Karrun developed the Gear Titan, a mechanical armor that can be augmented in different ways using magical energy. This was a major technological breakthrough and made the Layline Initiative take note of her.

She was invited to the Frostwell to continue her studies. Within only a few years she managed the perfect the construction of the gear titans allowing them to fully connect to the magic of its user in various different ways. Sadly even to this day they are very expensive to produce and only very few people ever get to try one, let alone master their magical potential.
